What Is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a holistic health system that combines modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural medicine. It draws on a variety of disciplines, including nutrition, homeopathy, tissue salts, herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Bach flower remedies, and lifestyle interventions.

Naturopathy supports an individual’s natural vitality, which can be affected by structural, biochemical, and emotional changes. A naturopath acts as an educator—encouraging and guiding individuals to take care of themselves, both to prevent illness and support recovery.

My Approach

For me, naturopathy is a call to the basics: nourishing food, quality hydration, restorative sleep, passion in life, time in nature, social connection, and strengthening exercise. These simple practices support our health but are often overlooked in the modern world, leading to health imbalances.

Core Principles of Naturopathy

1

Treat the Root Cause, not Just Symptoms

Every imbalance has a main underlying cause. Naturopathy focuses on identifying and addressing this root cause.

2

Prevention Is Better Than the Cure

Preventing disease is easier and more effective than treating it. Naturopaths consider genetics, family history, and lifestyle patterns to identify potential health risks and act early.

3

The Body Can Heal Itself

The body has an innate ability to heal when given the right conditions. Symptoms are seen as the body’s way of expressing and attempting to restore balance. Naturopaths work to understand these symptoms rather than suppress them.

4

Individualized Care

Every person is biochemically and spiritually unique. Naturopathy explores why an individual experiences imbalance, where it originates, and what causes it. Therefore, a naturopath works on an individual basis, focusing on the person rather than the disease itself.

5

Holistic Approach

Naturopaths consider emotional wellbeing, traumas, beliefs, environmental influences, nutrition, and overall physiological health in their care.
